Some servers were maintained by their users:
MiniNet, a Minecraft server maintained by its owner. The Server is best played with Vanilla modpacks.
Spawn Overworld, a survival server started by the server host but currently with a community of only 3 players, making it the smallest server in the network.
The only survival server I've ever seen.
Admins of that server tell me that it's just a private project of theirs.
Caves & Cliffs, a second installment of the major Caves & Cliffs update that completely reworks caves, adds new items, and changes old blocks. It has spawned a growing community of players, and the developer seems very active.
The Immortal Server is the biggest Minecraft survival server out there with ability to hold up to 1000 concurrent players in its network. This project was started by the server's owner and was later taken over by its community. This server can be played in either survival or creative mode. The developers say the time has come to add buildings and doors.
Minecraft 1.8.2, a single player server with features such as water and lava, crafted items, built-in commands, and more.
The Only server in the network with performance issues that could be solved by updating your computer's graphics driver and/or memory. This has been resolved.
Minecraft server 1.8+
Minecraft server 1.6.4
This server is solely maintained by its original server owner and is missing core blocks, and other core features such as mobs, furnaces, and furnaces. Because of this it is generally considered unofficial and disallowed for use on public servers. It's missing features and is unreliable, as an example, it can become frozen if the server is visited for too long. The original server owner makes changes at his own discretion and accepts changes at his own discretion.
1.7.9
Minecraft servers (Minecraft 1.7.9)
Minecraft 1.7.9 also lacks parts ac619d1d87
